Relay For Life

Last night I attended the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, which was held here in Fulton at the G. Ray Bodley high school track. The weather was perfect for this all-night event, and I spent a good deal of time just wandering around, soaking up the atmosphere of hope and the celebration of life. I also got to hang out with a team made up of friends and relatives who called themselves "Reyne's Rainbow" in memory of Reyne Knight, who died suddenly and unexpectedly of cancer last fall. The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the hundreds of luminarias which surrounded the track. I would have liked to stay the whole night, but I have my own 3-Day camp-out coming up in just a few short weeks.
