A Rose in Winter

Last year, after I first planted my rose garden, I obsessively prepared every bit of it for winter. I pruned, I mulched, I tied off the climbers to the arbor. This year I just never found the time, and I let it go and will hope for the best come spring. As a result, there are a couple of my roses that apparently held on till the very last second of the blooming season, and once the snow and cold came, they dried out right then and there. They are beautiful against the white snow, and today I braved the deep snow of the back yard to capture them.
