The Twelve Days of Christmas Ornaments - Day 11

Sometimes the simplest ornaments can be the best. This is one of those ornaments. This is one of about a half-dozen pine cone ornaments that Grant and I made together one year when we were still living in Massachusetts. We made all sorts of ornaments for our tree that year - these pine cones, some cookie-cutter ornaments made out of some homemade plaster-like substance, and of course the required handprint ornaments. Unfortunately, the pine cones are the only ones which have successfully survived our frequent moves and the dampness of our basement. They may be simple, but I wouldn't trade them for all the Hallmark ornaments in the world.
